The RWU Cheerleading program started about five seasons ago by a few students looking to continue from their high schools to the collegiate level while showing their school spirit and support. Over the seasons it's grown from its starting numbers of five members to over twenty-five members and is still growing with even larger numbers showing interest each season. This 2011-12 team is made up of twenty-four members, eleven of which are returning veterans. The goal of the program and its members this season will be to continue cheering on our men and women basketball teams, supporting other RWU programs and events and look to branch out into the competitive end of the sport and compete around the New England area in competitions and hopefully earn a bid to the College Nationals in Daytona, FL. Starting a new and exciting tradition for the Cheerleading program at RWU for future seasons to come.
