BRISTOL, R.I. – The third-seeded Roger Williams University Women's Tennis will be moving on to the Commonwealth Coast Conference Semifinals after defeating the #6 seed Salve Regina University 5-0 Tuesday afternoon in the CCC Quarterfinals.

The win gave the Hawks their second win over the Seahawks in four days after beating Salve 9-0 on Saturday in the regular season finale. RWU improves to 9-3 and will face the #2 seed Endicott College next Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. Salve ends the Fall season at 4-7.

The All-CCC First Team doubles squad of Tracy Klein (New City, N.Y.) and Samantha Curran (Cumberland, R.I.) dispatched Salve's duo of Ana Gwozdz (Taunton, Mass.) and Elizabeth Liguori (Westerly, R.I.) 8-2 at #1. All-CCC Honorable Mention pair Hillary Dutton (Cheshire, Conn.) and Adriana Maconochie followed suit shortly after, winning 8-1 over Shannon O'Brien (Gorham, Maine) and Kasey Walther (Natick, Mass.) at #2. Wrapping up doubles play were Alexandra Brown (Kennett, Mo.) and Lauren Schmidt (South Easton, Conn.), taking #3 doubles 8-1 over Elizabeth DiFilippo (West Chester, Pa.) and Erica Shay (Concord, Mass.).

At singles, Curran was the first to notch a point for the Hawks, putting RWU on top 4-0 with a 6-0, 6-1 win at #2 over Gwozdz. All-CCC Honorable Mention Schmidt punched the Hawks' ticket to the semis by taking her #3 match against Liguori by an identical 6-0, 6-1 score.
