Philip Ernst Receives NEWA Wrestler of the Week Honors

BRISTOL, R.I. – The New England Wrestling Association has named Philip Ernst (Succasunna, N.J.) as the NEWA Wrestler of the Week.

Ernst won his second straight tournament at 197lbs. in dominating fashion.  He beat Brandon Hull of Centenary by Major Decision 8-0 in the finals to win the Doug Parker Invitational at Springfield College this past weekend.  Ernst has improved his season record to 8-0 and has back to back championships in as many weeks.  Ernst currently ranks 6th in the nation at his respective weight class and has helped the Hawks take the 23rd ranking in this week's DIII National Wrestling Coaches Association Rankings Poll.

The Hawks will be back in action on December 1st in Fairfield, Conn. at 5:00 p.m. to take on Sacred Heart University and Davidson University in a tri-match.
