ORLANDO, Fla. – The Roger Williams University Women's Tennis team earned its first win of its annual Spring Break trip, defeating Bryn Mawr College 6-3 on Wednesday morning.

The match, which was originally scheduled for an 8:00 a.m. start on Tuesday, was postponed to Wednenday morning due to rain on Tuesday.

The Hawks began the day with a pair of wins at doubles, beginning with Samantha Curran (Cumberland, R.I.) Tracy Klein (New City, N.Y.) defeating Vivien Chen and Jenny Vogel 8-3 at #1. Alexandra Brown (Kennett, Mo.) and Lauren Schmidt (South Windsor, Conn.) followed suit with an 8-1 victory over Kendall Baller and Rachel Genovese at #2.

Klein would then take her #1 singles match 6-3, 6-1 over Chen, while Curran defeated Vogel 7-6 (8-6), 6-2 at #2. Schmidt put together a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Melina Koukoutchos, and Brown cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win over Baller. Catherine Austin earned the only in-game win for Bryn Mawr, beating Olivia Hilton (Vernon, Conn.) 7-5, 6-7 (4-7), 10-7. Bryn Mawr won #6 singles and #3 doubles by default.
