BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Women's Tennis team notched its second win in as many days, picking up a 9-0 victory over Western New England University Saturday afternoon.
Samantha Curran (Cumberland, R.I.) helped herself to a pair of wins on the day, defeating Caleigh Curran (Guilford, Conn.) 6-1, 6-0 at #1 singles. She also paired up with Hillary Dutton (Cheshire, Conn.) to earn an 8-2 win over Curran and Joeanna Glantz (Agawam, Mass.) at #1. At singles, Dutton tallied a 6-0, 6-1 win against Linda Mustafa (Chicopee, Mass.) at #2.
Alexandra Brown (Kennett, Mo.) also earned a 6-0, 6-1 win, beating Lindsey Brudvig (Plattsburg, N.Y.) at #3. She earlier teamed with Lauren Schmidt (South Windsor, Conn.) for an 8-1 win over Mustafa and Kelsey Grode (Fairview, Pa.) at #2.
Emma Limburg (New London, N.H.) and Adriana Maconochie (Easton, Conn.) grabbed the last doubles win, 8-3 at #3 against Kelly Byrnes (Berlin, Conn.) and Juliette Cormier (Leominster, Mass.).
Alexandra Reilly (North Easton, Mass.) and Harley Kaiserman (Setauket, N.Y.) also picked up singles wins for the Hawks at #5 and #6, respectively, by scores of 6-2, 6-2 and 6-1, 6-0.
Roger Williams (5-3, 3-1 CCC) hosts Nichols, while Western New England (3-5, 0-4 CCC) will be at Wentworth Institute of Technology, both matches on Tuesday.
