BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Women's Tennis team continues to look for its first home win of the season, as Simmons College defeated the Hawks 6-3 Wednesday afternoon.

The Hawks got off to a strong start, taking #2 and #3 doubles for an early 2-1 lead. Alexandra Brown (Kennett, Mo.) and Lauren Schmidt (South Windsor, Conn.) teamed up to defeat Rachael Downey (Groveland, Mass.) and Sofie Epshtein (Newton, Mass.) 8-2 at #2, while Emma Limburg (New London, N.H.) and Adriana Maconochie (Easton, Conn.) defeated Caroline Khoury (Portsmouth, Ohio) and Theresa Reinhard (Canton, Ohio) 8-3 at #3.

Simmons would come back to take five of the singles flights to come away with the victory. Brown notched the sole victory for the Hawks at singles, defeating Ephstein 2-6, 7-5, 10-6 at #4.

Roger Williams (1-2) will host Endicott on Saturday, while Simmons (2-1) will be at Clark on Saturday as well
