Box Score 2 ORLANDO, Fla. – The Roger Williams University Women's Tennis team earned two victories in its first two matches of Spring Break, defeating Ursinus 5-4 on Monday afternoon and Bryn Mawr 9-0 Tuesday morning.
Against Ursinus, the Hawks swept doubles before Ursinus mounted a comeback, taking four singles matches. At #1 doubles, Samantha Curran (Cumberland, R.I.) and Emma Limburg (New London, N.H.) won 8-6 over Christina Cromwell and Heather McMasters, while Alexandra Brown (Kennett, Mo.) and Lauren Schmidt (South Windsor, Conn.) won by the same score at #2. Harley Kaiserman (Setauket, N.Y.) and Adriana Maconochie (Easton, Conn.) rounded out doubles play at #3 with an 8-5 victory over Christine Palazzolo and Audrey Whitebloom.
At singles, Curran and Schmidt earned the winning points for the Hawks at #1 and #2, respectively. Curran took down McMasters 6-2, 6-2 and Schmidt followed suit, winning 6-1, 6-2 against Whitebloom.
The Hawks had an easier time against Bryn Mawr, sweeping both doubles and singles. At #3 doubles, Maconochie and Caroline McCarthy (Carver, Mass.) paired up for the first time this season for an 8-2 win over Kendall Baller and Melina Koukoutchos at #3.
At singles, Schmidt and Limburg earned a pair of respective 6-0. 6-1 wins at #2 and #5, while Maconochie cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 victory at #6.
Roger Williams (12-5) plays Alvernia on Thursday.
