Field Hockey surrenders six in loss to Salve Regina

Box Score MIDDLETOWN, R.I. – Salve Regina won its fifth straight game with a 6-1 victory over the Roger Williams University Field Hockey team.
 
Salve Regina senior Abigail Tepper (Foxboro, Mass.) scored the first two goals of the game in a span of 12:42. Salve Regina senior Julia Grover (Cotuit, Mass.) scored two straight goals in the second half to increase the Seahawks lead after the Hawks had cut it to a one goal game.
 
Salve Regina outshot the Hawks 11-2 in shots on goal, holding the Hawks to just one shot on goal in each half.
 
Roger Williams began the second half on the attack, generating multiple scoring chances. Junior Abby Treweek (Lakeville, Mass.) scored at 40:10 for the Hawks to make it a 2-1 game. The Seahawks responded with two straight goals from Julia Grover, 2:33 apart, to retake control of the game, and never looked back, scoring four unanswered in total to finish the game.
 
Mya Lunn (Marion, Mass.) recorded four saves before being replaced by Melora Lavoie (Poland, Maine) to begin the second half. Lavoie stopped three shots, and allowed four more goals. Jessie Severino (Branford, Conn.) stopped three shots to improve to 8-2 in the cage.
 
Next up on Tuesday, Salve Regina (8-2, 4-1 CCC) will head to Western New England, while Roger Williams (7-2, 3-1 CCC) heads to Gordon.
