Women's Tennis wraps up conference play with win over Salve Regina

Box Score NEWPORT, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Women's Tennis team closed out Commonwealth Coast Conference regular season play with a 9-0 win over Salve Regina University Saturday evening.
 
Salve Regina owns a 22-19 mark in the all-time series, but Roger Williams has won the last 10 meetings. Today's victory marked the seventh straight for the Hawks without dropping an individual match. The teams will meet for the 42nd time on Tuesday in first-round Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championships action.
 
Roger Williams junior Harley Kaiserman (Setauket, N.Y.) won at No. 1 singles and No. 3 doubles, while sophomore Kathryn Hughes (Westford, Mass.) claimed No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles. Senior Lauren Schmidt (South Windsor, Conn.) claimed wins at No. 1 doubles and No. 3 singles.
 
Roger Williams' Julia Akerman (Greenwich, Conn.) (11-0) and Ali Stankiewicz (Brunswick, Maine) (10-0) complete the regular season undefeated in singles play. Stankiewicz' win at fifth singles gave the Hawks their fifth point.

Both teams will face each other again on Tuesday in the Commonwealth Coast Conference quarterfinals.
