Ewing Township, N.J.- The Roger Williams University wrestling team went 3-0 on the weekend at the New-Metro Conference Challenge Duals. The Hawks defeated The College of New Jersey 26-9, Hunter 46-6 and Centenary 25-18. The Hawks are now 17-1 on the season.

The Hawks were off to a strong start, defeating TCNJ. Nick Barbaria (Scarsdale, N.Y.) was the first to get the Hawks on the board with a decision 9-3 at 125 pounds. The Hawks benefited from a forfeit at 133 pounds. TCNJ went on to win the next two bouts at 141 pounds and 149 pounds before senior captain,
Ty Herzog (Slatington, PA) had a major decision 14-5 at 157 pounds. The Hawks didn't slow down, winning the next four bouts to win their first match of the day.

Next up, the Hawks were up against Hunter College. The Hawks won the first four bouts from falls and a forfeit at 133 pounds. The Hawks had no problems defeating Hunter 46-4 to move on to end the day against Centenary.

At 125 pounds, the Hawks won by major decision 18-6. The Hawks also won by decision at 149 pounds 2-0 and 165 pounds 5-2, ending the day defeating Centenary 25-18.

The Hawks are back in Providence, RI at Johnson and Wales for the Wildcat open on Sunday, January 29
th.
