Box Score BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott field hockey team improved to 4-0 in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play Thursday evening on North Field with a 5-1 victory over Roger Williams where their record fell to 3-5.
The Gulls got on the board quickly 36 seconds in the game on a goal from Sophia Cogliano (Saugus, Mass.). With time winding down in the first half, Bushey then set up Melanie Kaleta(Bellingham, Mass.) for her third goal of the season to increase the Endicott lead to 3-0.
Cogliano netted her second goal of the game at the 43:48 mark on a pass from Jaylin Grabau (Lynnfield, Mass.). The Hawks responded with a tally from
Sydney McCarthy (Little Falls, N.Y.) to cut the deficit to 4-1.
At the 67:35 mark, Emily Hirtle (Rowley, Mass.) found the back of the net to give the Gulls the 5-1 win.
Taylor Farrin (Danvers, Mass.) improved to 8-2 on the season and recorded six saves during the victory.
The Gulls outshot the Hawks 31-10.
Cogliano and Hirtle paced the offense with eight shots each.
Madi Wood (Bristol, Vt.) and Kaleta also notched assists, while Bushey recorded a team-leading two assists on the night.
Mya Lunn (Marion, Mass.) shifted to 3-5 overall and made 13 saves in the loss.
Leading the offense was McCarthy and
Jenna Clavette (Enfield, Conn.) with two shots each.
The Hawks will match up this Saturday at 11AM in Wenham, Mass to take on Gordon College.
