Box Score BRISTOL, R.I.—The Roger Williams University Women's Tennis team swept Worcester State University (6-2) Thursday afternoon in Bristol, R.I.
The Hawks entered Thursday coming off a 9-0 win against Commonwealth Coast Conference opponent Wentworth Institute of Technology Wednesday.
In the double matchups, the Hawks took all three matches.
Kathryn Hughes (Westford, Mass.) and
Julia Akerman (Greenwich, Conn.) defeated Lauren Taylor (Attleboro, Mass.) and Nathalie Khafaga (Auburn, Mass.) 8-0.
Gabrielle Riley (Barnstable, Mass.) and
Heidi Martin (Scituate, Mass.) took down Isabel Badeau (Cumberland, R.I.) and Rachel Green (Worcester, Mass.) by a score 8-2. The Lancers Alexis Silk (Greenfield, Mass.) and Dominque Alves (Ludlow, Mass.) put up a fight against
Jessica Magliato (New Rochelle, N.Y.) and
Morgan Crimmins (Boston, Mass.) by fell 9-8.
Hughes took the first singles matchup against Taylor by a score of 6-0, 6-1. Akerman swept Khafaga 6-0, 6-0.
Taryn Roche (Greenlawn, N.Y.) defeated Silk 6-2, 6-3.
Riley Spillane (Easton, Mass.) continued the winning streak with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Green.
Dana Englander (North Haledon, N.J.) finished the day off with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Monika Mularski (Auburn, Mass.).
The Hawks (9-3) look for their tenth win of the season Tuesday in their last regular season and conference matchup against Western New England University.
