BRISTOL, R.I.—The Roger Williams Men's Soccer team defeated University of New England 2-0 on a Saturday afternoon at Bayside Field.
Early in the first half, Hawk's junior
Stathi Panagiotidis (Norwalk, Conn.) nailed the cross bar but then redeemed himself by scoring his third goal of the season to give the Hawks an early lead.
Colby Decker (Colchester, Conn.) assisted Panagiotidis after giving the ball up to his teammate at the top of the box.
RWU's second goal came from
Michael Oliveira (Waterville, Maine) on a one touch pass from
Ryan Miller (Hillsdale, N.J.) with 25 minutes left in the first half. Miller crossed the ball from the left side of the field after a throw in from teammate
Andrew Kirschenbaum (Hamden, Conn.).
Roger Williams had two other scoring opportunities in the second half but Tuft's goalkeeper Nathan Delesdernier (Niantic, Conn.) had an unbelievable jumping save that kept the Hawks at a 2-0 score.

Edmund Geschickter (Brookline, Mass.) had four saves (6-0-0) and Delesdernier had five (0-2-0).
The Hawks face Johnson & Wales on Sunday at 1:00 pm in Providence, R.I. and the Nor'Easters will match up against Clark University on September 26
