Men's Soccer Ties with Salve after Double OT

NEWPORT, R.I.  – The Roger Williams University Men's Soccer team tied 1-1 to conference member Salve Regina University on a Saturday afternoon.
 
Hawk Highlights
Michael Oliveira (Waterville, Maine): 1 goal, 2 shots, 2 shots on goal
Edmund Geschickter (Brookline, Mass.): 19 saves, 1 goal allowed, 110 minutes in goal

How It Happened
In the 11th minute of the first half, Oliveira scored his fourth goal of the season to give RWU an early 1-0 lead. Not until eight minutes left in regulation did Salve's MacDonald score to tie the game off of a penalty kick. The two teams went into double overtime but neither of them could find the net resulting in a 1-1 tie. The Hawk's goalkeeper Geschickter totaled an impressive 19 saves on the day to keep his team in the game.
 
What's Next
Roger Williams (7-2-3, 2-0-1) gets ready to match up against Wheaton College tomorrow at 3:00 p.m. while Salve (5-3-3, 1-0-2) turns to Lasell University at 3:30 p.m.
