How It Happened
The Bison jumped out to a 7-0 lead as part of their 13-2 opening run over the first five minutes of the game. However, Roger Williams would not be deterred, as a barrage of three-pointers erased Nichols' lead. Four consecutive treys capped off by a
Bryan Donovan three put the Hawks on top 16-15 halfway into the first.
Nichols would eventually go back top, scoring eight straight points to break a 25-all tie with five minutes remaining in the first half. RWU was able to pull back within two, but Nichols went into halftime up by five (39-34).
In the second, RWU made it a 37-41 game before back-to-back threes by Kash Jackson put Nichols up by 10. Then after a Bison timeout, Nichols put on a press that helped build their lead from ten to 18 over the next two minutes. Roger Williams pulled within 11 but could not cut the deficit to single digits, allowing Nichols to take the win.
