How It Happened
The Hawk defense put in work to begin the game, with the crew of Erin Magsamen (Bridgewater, N.J.), Hunter Phillips (Schuylerville, N.Y.), Maggie McCarthy (Worcester, Mass.), and Abigail Stevens (Brewster, Mass.) combining to hold UNE without a shot in the first quarter. RWU managed three shots in the frame but were unable to get one on the board.

In the second quarter, the Nor'Easter offense woke up, putting up seven shots in the period. This time it would be Callie Flanagan (Wenham, Mass.) who would help preserve the shutout, collecting four saves in the quarter. A stout defensive effort by both squads kept the game scoreless at halftime.

In the third, UNE caught a break four minutes in for their first score. Madi Robito (Pelham, N.H.) put up a shot that Stevens was able to poke away for the defensive save. However, Jillian Lachapelle (Gilford, N.H.) took advantage of the opportunity of the open net and scored what would prove to be the game winner for UNE. The Hawks managed two shots in the fourth while keeping the Nor'Easters without a shot. Yet the Hawks could not convert them into scores, as UNE slipped past RWU to advance to the championship.
