With two outs, Hawks' Jessie Robicheaw drilled a triple to right field cutting the score in half. How It Happened
Both teams' defenses were flawless in game two as nobody scored until the fifth inning. Alex Burdick got it started for the Hawks singling through the left side. Michaela Federico answered with a hit of her own up the middle. With bases loaded due to a fielder's choice, Taylor Chatowsky hit a RBI sacrifice fly to center field to bring home Burdick for the Hawk's only run of the game. In the seventh inning, JWU tied the game and with two outs Talia Smaller singled up the middle scoring two to win the 3-1 game.

Coaches Corner
"What a great day to be on the softball field against a quality team. It was a tale of two different games. Game one featured a lot of hitting on both sides of the ball .JWU started hot with some seeing eye hits that built them a 10-0 lead. Ellie and Jess cooled their bats and we kept fighting back to close it at 10-6. I'm really proud of the grit we showed to battle back. Game two was a pitcher's duel. Lia and her battery mate Jacey worked well together and held a very good hitting team scoreless through six. We came up just short on a couple of defensive tries in the seventh and couldn't quite close it out. I credit JWU for timely hits. They are a championship caliber team and we were right there with them.  It was a good test to close our non-conference schedule. I feel like we learned a lot about our team as we head into conference play this weekend." –Joyce Maudie

Player's Corner
"We learned a lot about our team today, down eight in the first inning most teams would have given up, but the team showed grit to come back for a final score of 10-6. We walk away from these games stronger. I am excited to see what this team is capable of as we begin conference games." - Katrina Goria
