How It Happened
After a scoreless six minutes of play, Jack Martin notched the first goal of the game for UN. After
Jared Grier tied things up, Gavin Tanis regained the lead for the Nor'Easters with 8:17 left in the quarter. Roger Williams would then log two goals in the final five minutes to go up 3-2 entering the second.
The following period saw Grier tally three consecutive goals within a minute as part of a 4-0 run to build the Hawk lead to five. The Nor'Easters got two of the goals back but a pair of RWU scores in the final minute of the half helped push the Hawks to a 9-4 halftime advantage.
Roger Williams would break the game open in the third quarter, with RWU scoring four unanswered goals to go up 12-4. A lone tally by Alex York ended RWU's run but the Hawks would still take a 13-5 lead into the fourth.
The Hawks managed to extend their advantage to 11 (17-6) before the Nor'Easters mounted a late rally. UNE scored the final four goals of the contest over the last eight minutes, but were unable to overcome the large deficit, giving RWU its first CCC win of the season.
