BOSTON, Mass. — The Roger Williams Women's Tennis team rolled to a 9-0 win over Simmons University Friday afternoon in the team's first match of the season.
 
Hawk Highlights
Alessia Cahoon (Dedham, Mass.) and Emma Place (Francestown, N.H.) set down Leah Bonis and Olga Zhizhin 8-0 at #1 while Gianna Ferraro (Westerly, R.I.) and Olivia Santoro (Cheshire, Conn.) downed Sarah Mariski and Megan McKeever 8-2 at #2. At #3, Kate Hardy (Southington, Conn.) and Gracie McCarthy (Marion, Mass.) picked up an 8-4 win against Avery Halloran and Libby Weed.
 
At singles, Place and Alexa DiCesare (Norwood, Mass.) won their respective #1 and #4 matches by 6-2, 6-2 scores, while McCarthy swept McKeever 6-0, 6-0 at #5. Cahoon collected a 6-1. 6-0 win over Bonis at #2, Ferraro downed Mariski 6-1, 6-0 at #2, and Santoro won 6-0, 6-1 at #6 against Samantha Margolin.
