BRISTOL, R.I. – A strong second half by Salve Regina University allowed the Seahawks to come away with a 97-88 win over the Roger Williams University Men's Basketball team Wednesday evening.

How It Happened
Roger Williams stepped out of the gate on fire, with each starter for RWU scoring on their first shot attempt of the game. Conversely, the Seahawk miss their first seven shots in the contest. The end result was a 12-0 lead for Roger Williams over the first three minutes of the game.
After a Salve timeout, the Seahawks got back on track, with back-to-back steals leading to a pair of buckets. Salve eventually pulled within three (14-17) with 12:50 left in the half. Yet the Hawks answered with a barrage of threes to take a 35-17 lead, capped off with a trey from
John Ah Kao (Dumont, N.J.). RWU had the hot hand in the early goings of the half, shooting over 70 percent at one point while hitting their first eight threes of the game. Despite the setback, Salve kept their composure and managed to make it an eight-point game entering halftime (41-50).
In the second half, Salve opened the period on a 13-7 run to pull within three. Then back-to-back steals and layups for the Seahawks gave them their first lead (70-69) with 10:30 to play. From there, Salve managed to build their lead to ten (82-72) with 6:23 to play and the Hawks were unable to make their way back in the game. Mikey Spencer (Abington, Mass.) played a large role in the Seahawks' comeback, dropping 31 points in the period.
