AMHERST, Mass. – The Roger Williams University men's soccer team saw their season come to a close in the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Tournament, drawing #15 St. Lawrence 0-0, before the Saints advanced on penalty kicks 5-4.
 
The Hawks outshot the Saints 23-22 and put 10 shots on net to St. Lawrence's seven. 
Jack Avellar (Orleans, Mass.) made 10 saves in the match with five corner kicks.
 
After four attempts in the second half, Roger Williams tallied a pair of attempts in the opening frame of overtime, and then had another attempt in the second overtime period, before the Hawks and Saints went into a shootout.
 
Roger Williams and St. Lawrence then went to penalty kicks with the Saints advancing to the second round with a 5-4 shootout win.
 
Roger Williams (14-3-5, 6-2-1 CCC) closes their season with their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2013, and their first CCC Championship since 2006.
