BIDDEFORD, Maine – The Roger Williams University field hockey team's season came to a halt on Thursday evening falling to the University of New England 1-0 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Tournament Semifinal.
 
Freshman goalkeeper Hannah Brazil (East Sandwich, Mass.) made six saves in the match to keep the Hawks within reach, but Roger Williams was unable to mount offense as a tough Nor'easter defensive unit did their job, keeping the Hawks at bay.
 
The lone goal of the match came 3:25 into the contest, when Madi Robito was on the receiving end of a pass from Shelly Tremblay. Both teams struggled to mount any offense the rest of the contest, as the opposing defenses stood tall.
 
Roger Williams closes their season at 12-8 overall with a 3-3 record within the CCC.  The Hawks hosted a CCC Quarterfinal birth during the season, while also adding eight shutout victories on their record.
