BIDDEFORD, Maine – The No. 4 Roger Williams University field hockey team will travel to the top seeded University of New England Thursday afternoon in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Semifinal on Blue Bolt Field.
The Hawks defeated No. 5 Salve Regina in a 3-0 contest on Tuesday afternoon to earn their spot in the Semifinal matchup. While University of New England received a bye, for a place in the CCC Semifinals.
The Hawks offense is sparked by
Chelsea King (Schenectady, N.Y.) who has 12 goals on the season, with four assists for a team-high 28 points.
Kelly Doherty (Mansfield, Mass.) has 14 points on the year with six assists and four goals and
Hannah Timbrouck (Kingston, N.Y.) has six goals on the season and an assist for 13 points.
Rounding out the top five-point scorers for Roger Williams, are
Sara Carney (Franklin, Mass.) and
Brooklyn Cenatiempo (Trumbull, Conn.) both of who have 10 points on the season.
For the Nor'easters, they will look to a combination of Madi Robito and Kate Lindmark, who have combined for 37 points on the season, with Robito tallying nine goals and an assist, to Lindmark's seven goals and four assists. Grace Bazen and Shelly Tremblay will also have a major impact on scoresheet with 14 and 12 points respectively.
In net the Hawks will look to
Hannah Brazil (East Sandwich, Mass.) to steady the defense in the net. Brazil has 0.63 goals against average this season, appearing in 13 games. This season Brazil also holds a 5-2 record with four shutouts over her last four starts.
The Nor'easters will look for Lindsay Pych in net, she has started all 18 games for the University of New England, recording three shutouts. She enters the contest with a 1.85 goals against average with 101 saves on the season, and a 0.765 save percentage.
Roger Williams (12-7, 3-3 CCC) takes on University of New England (9-9, 6-0 CCC) on Thursday, Nov. 3 at 6:30 pm.
