BRISTOL, R.I. — The Roger Williams University wrestling team took two of their three matches in the RWU Duals Tournament on Saturday, beating New Jersey City University, 41-7, and Hunter, 58-0, the Hawks also fell to NYU, 20-16.
In the match against NJCU, both
Ben Bariso (Butler, N.J.) in the 157 lbs division and
William Ogbebor (Foxboro, Mass.) in the 285 lbs division won by major decision. The Hawks took points in four of the matches by pinfall.
Chris Tringali (Chester, N.J.) won his match in the 133 lbs class by a 6-4 decision.
The match against NYU saw
Ari Dinerman (Ashland, Mass.), picked up four points at 125 lbs, by a major decision, 13-5.
Tyler Williams, competing in the 141 lbs class, gained three points for the Hawks, winning by a decision, 4-2.
Cole Shaughnessy (Fairfield, Conn.) also won by a decision in the 184 lbs division.
Against Hunter, the Hawks gained six points in four different pinfalls. Ogebebor won four points for the Hawks in his match, winning with another major decision.
Roger Williams now holds an 11-1 record in duals and will host Springfield on Friday, Dec. 9 at 6p.m. before competing in the Scott Viera Open, held in the Field House of the RWU campus, on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 9 a.m.
