How It Happened
Endicott scored early and often in the second round of the playoffs, getting on the board only six seconds after the opening faceoff. They followed it up 1:30 later, scoring their second unassisted goal of the game.
Jared Grier (Quincy, Mass.) would dig the Hawks out of the two-goal deficit, scoring his first unassisted on a man-advantage before he was assisted by
AJ DaRin (Manlius, N.Y.) with 5:48 remaining in the quarter to even things at two. Endicott would regain the advantage 1:15 later before netting two more with less than one minute remaining in the quarter to snag the 5-2 lead.
Endicott continued their streak by scoring another trio to open the second stanza before
Tim Mullane (Hanover, Mass.) notched his first point of the contest halfway through the frame. The Gulls and the Hawks would trade goals with
Matt Halpin (Hanover, Mass.), scoring the last goal of the quarter leaving the Hawks trailing by five heading into the halftime break.
Endicott continued their onslaught, scoring seven of the eight goals in the third quarter as the lone RWU goal came off the stick of an unassisted DaRin. Endicott ended the quarter on a 5-0 run, and would extend that run to 10-0 in the fourth before
Jack Kester (Londonderry, N.H.) would strike gold with seven minutes remaining.
Tim Mullane (Hanover, Mass.) would score the Hawks seventh goal with 2:30 remaining. Mullane and
Jared Grier would complete their fifth and final seasons as offensive running-mates in the most fitting fashion, as Mullane would assist the most dynamic goal scorer in program history on the final goal of the season.
