Box Score MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Roger Williams University women's tennis team was able to defeat, Saint Anselm 4-3 on Sunday afternoon, picking up the win in the programs first ever meeting.
 
Saint Anselm and Roger Williams played by Division II rules in which doubles, are recorded as one point.
 
Emma Place and Alessia Cahoon for an 8-3 win in first doubles, before Saint Anselm, registered a 8-5 win in third doubles, and an 8-6 win in second doubles, earning the doubles point.
 
In singles play, Olivia Santoro earned a 6-1, 6-2 victory to level the score at 1-1, before Saint Anselm regained the lead with a victory in fifth singles. Saint Anselm earned another point with a victory in first singles, before Gianna Ferraro picked up a 64, 6-3 win over her opponent in second singles. Gracie McCarthy levelled the score at 3-3 after winning her fourth singles match, 6-3, 6-2.
 
With the score deadlocked with one match remaining Cahoon, dropped the first set of the match 6-3, before rebounding and winning the final two sets 6-2, 6-2, earning the final point of the match for Roger Williams.
 
Roger Williams (3-0, 0-0 CCC) will face Curry in their first Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) match of the season, Wednesday, Sept. 14.  They will then return home for a non-conference match against Bridgewater State on Thursday, Sept. 15
