ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – During the Roger Williams University Spring Break, the Hawks' sailing team competed at the Sunshine City Team Race placing second on both days, while taking the top spot at the Southern New England Team Race.
At Eckerd, The Hawks placed second both days of racing, going 6-3 on Saturday, with
Lucy Meagher,
Tavia Smith, and
William Bailey sailed with
Maggie Fleming,
Maren Matthews, and
Addyson Fisher.
On Sunday, Roger Williams went 4-2 with the same sailors on board, went 2-0 against Bowdoin's second boat with a 1-1 record against Jacksonville and Bowdoin's top boat that took first.
At the Southern New England Team Race, the Hawks went 15-3 to take the top spot, edging out Coast Guard who went 14-4 and Boston College who went 12-6 in their races.

Oliver Stokke,
Carlos Bermudez de Castro, and
Kyle Pfrang were the skippers with
Michaela O'Donnell,
Jed Lory,
Carter Sheehan,
Claire Buckley,
Carly Kiss, and
Julia O'Connor as crew.
The Hawks also earned a top three finish at the Ivan Gieger Team Race, as
Luke Hosek,
Jack Roman, and
Drew Mastovsky skippered boats crewed by
Ethan Snyder,
Dawson Chambers-Tartaglino,
Dominique Spinola, and
Ruby Hope went 11-6 at the regatta.
Roger Williams will return to the water on Saturday, Mar. 23.
