Women’s Tennis: Mancini Caps Perfect Singles Campaign as Hawks End Season

BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University women's tennis team closed their 2023-24 season on Sunday afternoon, defeating the Chargers of Colby-Sawyer 6-3.

The No. 3 doubles pairing of Izzy Pecora and Ella Mancini earned an 8-2 win before Gianna Ferraro and Alessia Cahoon earned an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles. At No. 2 doubles, Olivia Santoro and Kate Hardy closed out the doubles sweep with an 8-5 win.

In singles play, the Chargers picked up the first point with a win at No. 2 singles, Ferraro then earned the win at No. 1 singles. No. 3 singles saw Elise Hogan take the win for Colby-Sawyer before Maria Espinosa Lopez added another point for the Chargers at No. 4 singles. Santoro clinched the win for the Hawks at No. 5 singles with a 6-0, 6-0 win.

Mancini then completed an undefeated singles campaign with a 6-1, 6-0. She is the first to complete a perfect 20-0 season.

Roger Williams (14-6, 4-2 CCC) concludes their season.
