PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Wrestling team fell to Rhode Island College, 29-13 on Sunday in their third match at the New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) Dual Championships, 29-13.
Fred Luchs picked up the first three points of the match, defeating
Christopher Tringali, 4-1. Kwesi Amoa continued the scoring along with Sebastian Armstrong, ahead of six point win by medical forfeit to take a commanding 15-0 lead.
Matt Lucas then pinned his opponent at 157 pounds, taking six points for the Hawks.
At 165 pounds, Scott Lallas added three more points for RIC, but
Jayden Curley and
Jayden Toppan closed out scoring for roger Williams, while the Hawks fell by Fall and tech fall at 184 and 197 pounds.
Roger Williams (12-6, 5-5 NEWA) will take on Trinity for their final dual of the NEWA Dual Championships.
