Men's Basketball: Hawks Dominate Rams in Last Season's Championship Rematch

BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams men's basketball team defeated Suffolk in dominate fashion on Saturday afternoon, improving their record to 8-3 on the year, and 3-1 in Conference of New England action. The win at home improves their perfect home record to 7-0. The matchup served as a rematch of the 2024 CCC Championship game, in which the Rams were unable to average their championship loss to the Hawks last season.
 
The Hawks jumped out to an early lead in this one, having secured a double-digit lead just 10 minutes into the game. Upon doing so, they never looked back, expanding their lead to as large as 30 in the second half.
 
The two teams traded baskets to begin the contest, until the 13-minute mark of the first half hit, which saw the Hawks go on a 19-0 run over the course of six minutes to out the game out of reach early on. The Hawks would take a 13-point lead to the locker room at halftime. Out of the half it was more of the same, as the men continue to expand their lead further and further, reaching the 30-point margin with five minutes to play. Roger Williams would coast into the 83-59 win.
 
Individually, Finn Miller (Stamford, Conn.) led the men with 17 points and seven rebounds, both good for team-highs. Miller also chipped in four assists for the Hawks. Mac Annus (Belmont, Mass.) added 16 points and four assists of his own in the victory. Keenan Robertson led the Rams in the loss, netting 16 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.
 
The Hawks will return to action Tuesday, Jan. 7 against Western New England. The matchup will feature the No. 1 and 2 teams in the CNE standings.
