Men’s Basketball: Roger Williams Falls to Emmanuel, 90-80

BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Men's Basketball team fell to Emmanuel College, 90-80, in the Campus Recreation Center on Saturday night.

The Hawks shot 45.9 from the field and 36.8 behind the arc, while going 68.0 percent at the free throw line. RWU scored 40 points in the paint with 33 rebounds and took 12 points off of turnovers. The Saints shot 54.2 from the field and tallied nine second chance points to the Hawks' four. Emmanuel had 46 points in the paint and 15 points off of turnovers.

The Hawks jumped out early and went into the half leading the Saints by seven, with the score sitting at 42-35. The Saints tied the game in the 11th minute before the Hawks held onto their lead. However, Emmanuel took their first lead on a 3-pointer by Jack Assini eight minutes into the second half and never trailed again.

Noah Beaudet paced Emmanuel overall, hitting six 3-pointers on 8-of-11 shooting. Mahari Guerrier had 19 points and added seven rebounds going 7 of 11 from the line, while Hansy Jacques picked up 16 points and shot 6 of 8 from the floor. Danny Adams also reached double figures with 12 points and five assists.

Roger Williams led by Finn Miller (Stamford, Conn.), who finished with 18 points and nine rebounds. Ryan Hammarlund (Southington, Conn.) added 14 points and went 6-9 from the field. Ryan Higgins (Boston, Mass.) scored 11 while going 7 of 8 at the free-throw line. Owen Boudria (Westport, Mass.) scored 13 off the bench.

Roger Williams (0-3) will start Conference of New England play against Curry College on Wednesday, Nov. 19 at 7:30pm in the Campus Recreation Center, before hosting Framingham State on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 1pm.
