BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Athletic Department hosted a campus-wide food drive during several home events on Friday, Nov. 7 and Saturday, Nov. 8, collecting an impressive 275 pounds of non-perishable food items to support the East Bay Food Pantry.
Our Athletic Department honored the East Bay Food Pantry's mission to engage, educate, and empower East Bay in creating a hunger-free community. Fans and community members contributed generously at the Conference of New England (CNE) Men's Soccer Championship, women's volleyball, men's basketball, and women's basketball games, helping to make a meaningful impact in the fight against local food insecurity.
"We're proud of how our teams and fans came together to support such an important cause," said
Kiki Jacobs, Director of Athletics, Intramurals, and Recreation. "It's a great reminder that athletics can unite our community and help to make a difference and support those in need."
All collected items have been donated to the East Bay Food Pantry, where they will help provide meals and essentials to those in need throughout the region.
