DUDLEY, Mass. — Raegen Germano threw a complete game and Christina Denovellis delivered a key two-run double as Roger Williams defeated Nichols 3-1 on Sunday afternoon.

Germano (7-6) scattered five hits, walked five and struck out five over seven innings.

Roger Williams jumped ahead in the first inning when Lucy Maurao singled and later scored on Shannon Starratt's double down the left field line. Nichols (26-11) responded with a run in the bottom of the inning on an RBI single from Chloe Steiniger.

The game remained tied until the sixth, when the Hawks took advantage of Nichols' miscues. After a walk to Caroline Thomas and a single by Kayleigh O'Connor, Denovellis ripped a double to right field, scoring both runners and giving Roger Williams a 3-1 lead.

Germano closed the door from there, retiring Nichols in order in the seventh. Starratt, Hailey Williams, and Denovellis each had extra-base hits for the Hawks, who totaled six hits and did not commit an error.

Chelsea Indyk (19-5) took the loss for Nichols, allowing three runs (all earned) on six hits and four walks, striking out three across seven innings.
