BEVERLY, M.A. – The Roger Williams University Men's Soccer team started Conference of New England (CNE) action with a win over Endicott College on Friday, Sept. 5.
The Gulls were quick to start as they outshot the Hawks 10-3 in the first half, landing two on Roger Williams keeper Eliot Panaccione (Pepperell, Mass.). The Hawks fired off three of their own, landing one on the net.
The Hawks got the ball rolling in the second half, recording six shots in the half, to the Gulls three. Roger Williams finally struck in the 56th minute, as an unassisted shot from Dylan Robbins (Johnston, R.I.) found the back of the net to give the Hawks a 1-0 lead. Endicott would not answer back, as Roger Williams scooped up their first conference win of the season.
Roger Williams (2-0-1) will head to MIT next Tuesday, Sep. 9 at 6:00 PM and look to improve on their strong start to the season. As for Endicott (2-1-0), they will be on the road against Wentworth on Saturday, Sep. 13 at 3:00 PM.
