BRISTOL, R.I. – The College Sports Communicators announced their Academic All-District Team for the sport of basketball on Tuesday, naming Ryan Higgins (Boston, Mass.), Ty Higgins (New Marlborough, Mass.), Ryan Hammarlund (Southington, Conn.), and Philip Sughrue (Winchester, Mass.) to the recognition.  

To qualify for the team, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50 on a 4.0 scale. They must also be at least a sophomore in both academics and athletics, and meet specific transfer GPA rules, if applicable. Athletically, nominees must have appeared in at least 90 percent of their team's games or started in at least 66 percent.  

Ryan Higgins started 22 of the 24 games he appeared in, averaging 26.0 minutes per game. He tallied a 42.6 shooting percentage, knocking down 25.6 percent of his shots from three-point range, scoring 10.9 points per game, with 3.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists.

Ty Higgins appeared in each of the Hawks' 26 games on the season, while playing 18.7 minutes per contest. Ty Higgins shot at a 38.8 percent clip from the floor, with 5.9 points per game and 1.7 rebounds per contest. A finance major, he holds a 3.75 GPA.

A Marketing major, holding a 3.75 GPA, Hammarlund started in 24 of 25 games for the Hawks with 29.9 minutes per game. Hammarlund shot 51.8 percent from the floor, with a 31.6 three-point percentage, and averaged 4.6 rebounds per contest. He also dished out 2.1 assists per game with 1.8 steals, averaging 13.2 points per game.  

Rounding out the group is Sughrue, who is a management major with a 3.67 GPA. Sughrue appeared as a starter in each of the Hawks 26 games, while averaging 24.1 minutes per contest. Averaging 5.6 points per game with 4.4 rebounds per contest and 3.5 assists, he shot 34.3 percent from the floor, knocking down 86.5 percent of his shots at the free throw line.

Roger Williams closed out the season with a 12-14 record while going 8-8 in Conference of New England (CNE) play, falling in their First Round matchup at Nichols.
