Box Score ORLANDO, FL. — The Roger Williams University Women's Tennis team opened its Spring Break Trip in dominant fashion, sweeping Marymount University 7–0 in a non-conference matchup.
The Hawks set the tone early by capturing all three doubles matches to secure the opening point. The No. 1 doubles pair of Valentina Abarca (Riobamba, Ecuador) and Claire Dwyer (Manchester, Maine) earned a 6–2 victory, while Meghan Hughes (Watertown, Conn.) and Rose Hinsdale (Galveston, Texas) followed with a 6–4 win at No. 2 doubles. At the No. 3 spot, Annette Carter (Bedford, N.H.) and Ashlyn Keating (Ludlow, Mass.) completed the sweep with a 6–3 result.
Roger Williams continued its momentum into singles play, winning all six matches in straight sets. Albano battled to a 6–2, 7–5 victory at No. 1 singles, while Izzy Pecora (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) delivered a 6–1, 6–3 win at the No. 2 position. Ella Mancini (Middlebury, Conn.) was strong at No. 3 singles with a commanding 6–1, 6–0 performance.
Megan Bache (Westbrook, Conn.) added another point with a 6–2, 6–0 victory at No. 4 singles, while Adriana Palmieri (Southington, Conn.) secured a 6–0, 6–1 win at No. 5. Rounding out the lineup, Gabrielle Petroniro (Wolcott, Conn.) completed the sweep with a 6–1, 6–1 victory in the No. 6 match.
