PROVIDENCE, R.I. — The Roger Williams University Men's Soccer team opened its 2026 season with a 4-0 victory over Rhode Island College on Tuesday evening at Alumni Stadium.
The Hawks scored just 27 seconds into the match and built a 3-0 halftime advantage while holding Rhode Island College without a shot during the opening 45 minutes.
The Hawks finished with a 17-9 advantage in shots and an 11-4 edge in shots on goal. Roger Williams converted four of its 11 attempts on target and recorded five assists, while Rhode Island College held a 5-4 advantage in corner kicks.
Forward Ollie Hamilton (North Chittenden, Vt.) led the RWU attack with two goals on three shots, placing all three attempts on target. Junior forward Tyler Jastrab (Townsend, Mass.) and senior midfielder Dylan Thomas (Norwalk, Conn.) each recorded a goal and an assist. Luke McCarthy (Tolland, Conn.), Louis Hawkins (Norwich, Conn.) and Dylan Robbins (Johnston, R.I.) each added an assist.
Sophomore goalkeeper Todd Machowski (Marlborough, Conn.) stopped all four shots he faced to earn the shutout.
Rhode Island College goalkeeper Elhadji Ndoye made seven saves in the loss. Alijah Nunes led the Anchormen with two shots on goal, while Donovan Calle added two attempts and placed one on target.
Hamilton gave Roger Williams an immediate lead, finishing a feed from Thomas just 27 seconds into the contest. The Hawks continued to apply pressure before Jastrab doubled the advantage in the 22nd minute off an assist from McCarthy.
Thomas extended the lead to 3-0 in the 28th minute, converting a pass from Robbins for his first goal of the season. Roger Williams carried that advantage into halftime after outshooting the Anchormen 11-0 during the opening period.
Hamilton completed the scoring in the 56th minute, finding the back of the net for the second time off assists from Hawkins and Jastrab.
Rhode Island College generated all nine of its shots during the second half, but Machowski turned aside four attempts over the final 15 minutes to preserve the shutout.
Roger Williams returns to Bristol for its home opener against UMass Dartmouth on Friday, Sept. 4. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Bayside Field.
