John LaScala graduated from MTHS in 1992 and is currently the most decorated wrestler to be graduated from Montville Township High School. He compiled a record of 97–12 during his high school career. He was a four-time Morris Catholic Champ, two-time runner up at the Tri-County Tournament, a district runner up, two-time district champ, and a two-time region champ. He took a sixth and a second place in the New Jersey State Tournament.

After high school, he attended one year at Blair Academy Preparatory School, New Jersey’s most prestigious wrestling school. The following year, he attended Garden City Community College and then transferred to Roger Williams University. He compiled a record of 83–12 at the collegiate level. He achieved All-American status, the first in Roger Williams Wrestling history. He placed sixth at the NCAA Division III National Championships in 1995 at 158 pounds, and took third at the All-New England Tournament in 1995 at 158 pounds. Amateur Wrestling Magazine placed him on its prestigious All-Rookie Team for 1994–1995, which includes all three NCAA divisions. He was placed on the Pilgrim League All-Star Team in 1995, compiled a 22–0 record during his final season, and was ranked number one in the nation in his weight division.

Roger Williams University Wrestling alumnus, Pete Doucet, was inducted in to the New England Wrestling Association Hall of Fame. Doucet, a four-year wrestler for the Hawks, was a 2000 NCAA All-American in the 158-pound weight class. In addition to being named RWU Male Athlete of the Year that same year in 2000 he was also the two-time New England Champion and a four-time All-New England performer.  Doucet also was named to the Pilgrim League All-Star Team all four years and was the recipient of the RWU Male Sharon Castelli Award in 2001. He currently ranks in the top-eight all-time in school history in seven stats and is the all-time leader in takedowns at RWU with 510 in his career. Doucet was inducted in to the RWU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2013.
 
2003 Cory DeBias 3rd 165

Cory DeBias was a member of the Class of 1998 at Northern Lehigh High School where he wrestled for four years as a varsity starter. For his dedication to the sport of wrestling, Cory was nominated to the District II Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2006 and the Roger Williams University Athletic Hall of Fame in 2003. During his tenure at Northern Lehigh, Cory was a four time District Finalist and a three time District Champion, was a four time Regional Finalist and a three time Regional Champion. Cory also qualified for States four times including being a State Runner Up in 1997 and was the State Champion in 1998. His passion for wrestling is evident in the following awards: two time Christmas City Champion; three time Brandywine Champion; four time Colonial League First Team Honors; Channel 13 Male Athlete of the Year in 1997 and 1998; Lions Club Classic Most Outstanding Wrestler (1998); District 11 Wrestling Most Outstanding Wrestler (1998); District 11 Officials Sportsmanship Scholarship Award ($1,000); and Northern Lehigh Scholar Athlete in 1998. Cory will be remembered for earning 391 career team points and his career record of 137-12. His outstanding athletic performance continued at the collegiate level where he obtained a scholarship to wrestle at Rider University for 4 years, earning 3 varsity letters and a red shirt season. He completed his college career with a 32-2 season at Roger Williams University, where he earned NCAA Division III All-American Honors by finishing 3rd in the country at 165 lbs. and was named Roger Williams University Male Athlete of the Year in 2003.

 
2006 Andy LaCroix 3rd 141

LaCroix wrestled for three years in the Roger Williams blue and gold, having transferred from Old Dominion University.  He made an immediate impact on the team, earning All-New England honors in each of his three years.  Competing in the 141 lb. class, LaCroix earned a berth in the NCAA Division III National Championships in both 2006 and 2007.  He earned All-American status in 2006 with a third place finish, and was one win shy of earning the honor again in 2007.  LaCroix also served as a captain for the 2006-07 season.  He finished his career with a 97-20 record, which ranks fifth all-time for wins at RWU. LaCroix graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Education in May 2008.

Crowell was a 3x NCAA qualifier for the Hawks and a 4x Regional place winner. His junior year he was a Regional Champion. He also is in the prestigious 100 win club, currently with 117 wins. This marks him 5th all-time. Crowell was also a 2x Scholar All-American for RWU as well as a multiple time Pilgrim League All-Star.

Welch was a 3x NCAA qualifier for the Hawks, where he became the National Champion at 197 pounds in his senior campaign. As a sophomore, he finished 7th at 184 pounds. He had been the runner-up in both sophomore and junior year in the Regional before finishing as Region Champion in his senior year, defeating the returning National Champion.

 
2017 Ty Herzog 7th 157

Herzog hails from Slatington, PA and studied Mechanical Engineering.  Ty completed this journey of wrestling out in Wisconsin LaCrosse with a 7th place finish at the NCAA Tournament. After three trips to Nationals, Ty finally got his due. Herzog holds a number of career records at RWU. He holds the reversals record with 73, the takedowns record with 537 and sits in 5th place all time in wins with 129. He is also a four-time Scholar All-American.

Taylor Shay
Shay hails from New Fairfield, CT and studies Legal Studies at Roger Williams. He is currently a two-time region champion at 165 pounds and a two-time NCAA qualifier. In his junior year, he was undefeated against Division III competition in the regular season and finished the season as an All-American in 7th place. Shay has over 100 wins in his career and was also named an Scholar All-American in his junior year.
