David Welch solidified himself as the best wrestler to ever step on the mat as a Hawk. He was the 197-pound NCAA National Champion in his senior year and undefeated against Division III wrestlers. He was a 3x NCAA qualifier for the Hawks, where he finished 7th as a sophomore. He was the runner-up in sophomore and junior year in the Northeast Regional and in his senior year won the Regional by defeating the returning National Champion. Welch eclipsed the 100-win club in his junior year.

Joe Fitzsimons is a graduate of the Roger Williams University Class of 2004. He was a 4x All-New England wrestler and a 3x finalist. He closed out his collegiate career with 232 takedowns. He ended his career with the program record for wins and the second-most pins with 40. He earned the most team points in Roger Williams Wrestling history, totaling 336 points. Fitzsimons closed out his career with the third highest winning percentage at 82%.

Taylor Shay finished his spectacular career at RWU with 132. He was 7th in the nation in his junior season at 165 pounds, earning All-American honors. He was a 2x Regional Champion and 3x Regional Placewinner. In addition, Shay is a 2x NWCA Scholar All-American.

Pete Doucet, a four-year wrestler for the Hawks, was a 2000 NCAA All-American in the 158-pound weight class. In addition to being named RWU Male Athlete of the Year that same year, he was also a two-time New England Champion and a four-time All-New England performer. Doucet also was named to the Pilgrim League All-Star Team all four years and was the recipient of the RWU Male Sharon Castelli Award in 2001. He ended his career ranked in the top-eight all-time in school history in seven statistical categories as well as the all-time leader in takedowns at RWU with 510 in his career. Doucet was inducted in to the RWU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2013.

Shane Parcel was a 2009 Montville Township graduate who won four letters in wrestling. He was a New Jersey state qualifier in 2008 and was 3rd in his region as well as a District Champ. His school was First Team All-Area and First Team All-Conference. Parcel was a member of the 2009 State Sectional and District Championship Teams and named Captain and Team MVP in 2009. In 2008, he was named Third Team District All-County. After high school, he attended Roger Williams where he was a two-time NCAA qualifier. He was also named an NWCA Scholar All-American in his time with the Hawks. He completed his career with a total of 131 wins.

Herzog hails from Slatington, Pa. and studied Mechanical Engineering at Roger Williams. He completed his RWU Wrestling career in 2017 at Wisconsin LaCrosse with a 7th-place finish at the NCAA Tournament. After three trips to Nationals, Ty finally got his due, earning All-American honors. Herzog ended his career at RWU with a number of career records, including the reversals record with 73, the takedowns record with 537, and finished with 129 wins for fifth place in program history. In addition, he is a four-time NWCA Scholar All-American.

Tyler Gazaway finished his career at RWU as a 4x Regional Placer and a 2x National Qualifier. Gazaway qualified for the NCAA Tournament at 157 pounds in his sophomore season and 149 pounds in his junior year. For his career, he recorded 128 career victories.

Kyle Foster hails from Somers, Conn. and double majored in Criminal Justice and Psychology. Foster had an incredible career as a Hawk, finishing sixth all time in wins with 126 and was a two-time NCAA qualifier. Foster was also named a four-time NWCA Scholar All-American and was All-Region all four years of his career at heavyweight.

Justin Cochran graduated from Roger Williams University in 2018 with a degree in Criminal Justice. He cracked in to the national rankings in his senior year and finished his time at RWU with the school record for pins with 63. A Regional place winner in his sophomore year, Cochran was also a captain of the Hawks.

Jon Egan also had a very successful career as a wrestler at Roger Williams. He was a three-time NWCA Scholar All-American as well as a four-time All-New England selection. Egan was named the Roger Williams Male Athlete of the Year in 2005 and ended his time as a Hawk ranked third all-time in wins at RWU, finishing his career with a record of 121-38 (.761). Additionally, Egan ranked in the top ten in takedowns, reversals, near falls, and team points. In high school, Egan was the state-runner up as a junior before becoming the Rhode Island State Champion in 2001. Egan graduated from RWU with a degree in Financial Services and holds an MBA from UMass-Boston in Finance. He currently serves as Head Coach of the RWU Wrestling team. Prior to becoming RWU head coach, Egan served as an assistant coach for program since September 2010 after three years as the Head Varsity Wrestling Coach at Milton Academy.

Danny Ressler was a 2x NCAA qualifier for the Hawks. He eclipsed the 100-win club in his senior year. In his junior year, he was the 174 pound Region Champion and finished in 3rd in his senior year. He was also an NWCA Scholar All-American in his sophomore year.

Collin Crowell was one of the most impressive individuals to ever put on a Hawk singlet. Not only was he a 3x NCAA qualifier for the Hawks, but he also placed in the regional tournament all four years. In his freshman year, he was named the New England Rookie Wrestler of the Year. In his sophomore campaign, he was named an NWCA Scholar All-American and qualified for the NCAA Tournament. In his junior year, he was a Regional Champion for the Hawks where he scored bonus points on every wrestler in the tournament. He saved his best for last where he qualified for a third time for the NCAA Tournament his senior year, where he made the most of his trip to Iowa, taking 8th place. On top of that, he was named an NWCA Scholar All-American again. He also is in the prestigious 100-win club with 117 wins.

Phil Ernst was a 2009 graduate of Roxbury High School. He earned All-District and All-Country honors and was a New Jersey state qualifier. After high school, he attended Roger Williams where he was named 2010 Pilgrim League All-Star Second Team. Ernst earned New England Wrestling Association Rookie Wrestler of the Week honors and was a two-time Pilgrim League Rookie of the Week. In Ernst’s junior year, he was 2nd in the Region and was ranked as high as 3rd in the country. He concluded his wrestling collegiate career with 107 wins.

Nick Cambi was a 2007 graduate of Cohasset High School. He then attended Roger Williams University where he was named Pilgrim League Rookie of the Week in 2007 and NEWA Rookie of the Week. In 2010, he was named an NWCA Scholar All-American and earned a spot on the Pilgrim League Scholar-Athlete All-Star Team. Cambi was ranked 7th in the country at 197 by Wrestling USA Magazine, 8th nationally by NWCA, and 2nd by NEWA. He was the champion of his weight class at both the Ithaca College Invitational and the Roger Williams Invitational and earned runner-up at the Doug Parker Invitational, Williams College Invitational, and the New England Wrestling Association Championships. He closed out his collegiate career with 106 wins.

Dan Woods graduated from Northern Valley Regional High School in 2005. He then went on to attend Roger Williams where he earned the Pilgrim League Honorable Mention in his freshman year. In his 2006-07 season, he placed fourth at the Regional Championships. In his following season, he was named to the Pilgrim League First Team and placed second in the New England Championship. In his final season, he was ranked 10th in the National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III Individual Ranking at 197 and finished his career with a total of 105 wins.

Danny Downes hails from Elkton, Md. and studied Construction Management at Roger Williams. He was named an NWCA Scholar All-American during his freshman year. Then in his junior year, Downes won the Northeast Region and made it to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament. Downes also eclipsed the 100-win mark in his senior season, finishing with 105.

Brian Bagdon graduated from Roger Williams University in 2002 where he was a 3x All-New England wrestler. During Bagdon's senior year, he placed third at the New England Tournament. Bagdon concluded his collegiate with a total of 146 escapes and 27 pins. He earned the highest total reversals in Roger Williams Wrestling history, totaling 71 and finished his career with a 67% winning percentage.

Bariso graduated with a degree in Architecture, while completing his maters. Bariso opened his career, tallying 31 wins in his opening campaign. A three-time scholar All-American, Bariso totaled a winning percentage of 72 percent. |

Nicholas Barbaria graduated from Roger Williams University in 2018 with a degree in Graphic Design and minor in Marketing and Global Communications. He was an NCAA qualifier in his senior year after taking 3rd place at the Northeast Regional Tournament. Barbaria also earned his 100th win en route to making the NCAA Tournament on the final day of the Regional Tournament. He was also a team captain, a 3x NWCA Scholar All-American, and a 3x All-Region wrestler.
