Matt Rienzi began his tenure as the Assistant Baseball Coach at Roger Williams during the 2023 season.

Rienzi played is his collegiate baseball at St. Joseph's University Brooklyn where he was a pitcher, where he holds the record for career appearances with 45. 

A graduate from St. Joseph's University, Rienzi completed his bachelor's degree in Business Administration and holds a master's degree in Executive Management.

Rienzi also spent his playing days as a pitcher for the Polish National Baseball Team from, competing in European Baseball Championship Qualifiers and Prague Baseball Week, while also running camps and donating gear to Polish Youth Camps to spread baseball to younger generations in Poland.

In 2021-2022, Rienzi joined the coaching staff at his St. Joseph University, Brooklyn, as an assistant coach, overseeing the development of the program's catchers, recruiting responsibilities, and serving as the first base coach.

In the summer of 2022, Rienzi joined the coaching staff of the Ocean State Waves of the New England Collegiate Baseball where coached base running and served as the bullpen coach.

Rienzi has organized summer camps for Rhode Island's youth in part with the Waves, in addition to taking an Assistant GM role with the Waves in the fall of 2022 for the 2023 season, as well as retaining all his other positions with the organization before being Named the Head Coach of the OCean State Waves in 2024.

Rienzi will oversee the development of the catchers, hitters, base running, recruiting, and serve as the first base coach.

Rienzi currently resides in Providence, RI with his fiancé Caitlyn.
