Matt Chittim was promoted to Associate Head Coach of the Men’s Basketball team prior to the 2008-09 season, after spending the past five seasons as an assistant. He joined the men's basketball coaching staff in the fall of 2003 and is the team's recruiting and scouting coordinator, in addition to working full-time in the Office of Undergraduate Admission.

Prior to joining the staff at Roger Williams University, Chittim played four years of varsity basketball at Vassar College. In his first season at Vassar he played a key role on a team that set the school record for wins and made it to the ECAC semifinals. Chittim was named team captain his senior year and earned the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Award. He finished his playing career fifth all-time in games played and graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.

Coach Chittim lives in nearby Barrington, Rhode Island.
