Travis O’Dell will begin his second year on the staff for RWU’s Men’s Basketball team.

O’Dell was a four-year player for the Hawks before graduating in 2011 with a degree in Business. He was elected a team captain for both his junior and senior years. Following his junior season, he was awarded the Sharon Castelli Award which best exemplifies sportsmanship, leadership, and teamwork. During his time he was known as a solid two-way player with success both inside and on the perimeter.

He is also generally regarded as one of the best overall defensive players in recent memory. From the 85 games he played in over four seasons, he accumulated 443 points (5.2 average), grabbed 258 rebounds, blocked 14 shots, and tallied 71 steals. O’Dell, a Brunswick, Maine native was a 2007 graduate of Brunswick High School. He earned three letters as a starter for the men’s basketball team. He was also selected to the KVAC First Team in 2002 and Second Team in 2006. Lastly, in 2007 he was selected to KVAC All-Defense Team and nominated as a McDonald’s All-American.

He currently works at Roger Williams University as an Admissions Counselor.
