Bio
Kevin Gould begins his fourth season as the Roger Williams Head Men's Lacrosse Coach.
In his second season, the team’s 13-6 record, tied the most wins in program history (13). The team’s 9-1 record at home was the most wins on Bayside Field in program history. Roger Williams hosted and was victorious in the CCC Quarterfinals before being defeated in the CCC Semifinal.
Roger Williams finished first in the CCC in Man-up scoring percentage and Man-up goals per game. Roger Williams finished second in total goals scored in conference play and Man-down kill percentage.
Following the 2024 season, Freshman Riley Spellman was named the CCC Rookie if the Year. Senior Matt Hemmert and Sophomore Kyle Zirn were named to the CCC First Team. Spellman earned Second Team recognition, while Seniors Matt Halpin, Tyler Zanini, and Graduate student, Kevin Murphy all earned Third Team honors. Kevin Murphy, Matt Hemmert, and Tyler Zanini also earned USILA Scholar All-American honors.
In Gould’s first season in Bristol, the team finished 9-7. Following the season, Junior Matt Halpin was named to the All-CCC First Team. Senior Kevin Murphy and Freshman Kyle Zirn were named to the All-CCC Second Team. Three Hawks were recognized on the All-CCC Third Team (Jack Kester, Michael Businelli, and Tyler Zanini.)
Prior to Gould’s arrival at Roger Williams, he spent three seasons as the Offensive Coordinator at Providence College of the Big East Conference. During his time as a Friar, Gould coached 4 All Big-East players on offense. The Friars appeared in the Big East tournament in Gould’s second year. During the 2021 season, the Friars ranked #8 in man-up scoring in the nation.
Prior to Providence Gould spent five seasons as the Associate Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator at UMass Lowell. The Duxbury native spent two seasons as an assistant coach before being promoted to associate head coach on Sept. 1, 2017. In 2019, Gould helped develop two River Hawks en route to earning First-Team All-America East honors, marking the first in program history. In 2018, Gould helped guide UMass Lowell to its first America East playoff appearance in program history. Gould’s man-up offense finished in the top 3 in D1 NCAA twice during his tenure at UML. During his time in Lowell, Gould coached 3 future professional players of the National Lacrosse League (N.L.L).
Prior to UMass Lowell, Gould two seasons as assistant coach and Offensive coordinator at Dartmouth College of the Ivy League. Gould guided the Big Green offense to a 10-percent increase in extra-man scoring. During this 2015 season, Dartmouth’s win total improved by three victories, including a double-overtime win over 15th-ranked Harvard.
Gould’s collegiate coaching experience began at Bryant University in 2014 as an assistant coach. The Bulldogs won the Northeast Conference Championship and climbed up to No. 11 in national polls. Bryant appeared in NCAA quarterfinals for the first time in program history.
Gould graduated from Bentley University in 2010 with a degree in business management and enjoyed an impressive career with the Falcons’ lacrosse program. Gould ranks fifth in program history in assists and eighth in career points. Gould was named New England and Northeast-10 Rookie of the Year as a freshman. The two-time captain and four-time All-New England selection claimed All-America honors in 2010 during his senior season.
Gould was selected 39th overall by the Boston Cannons in the 2010 Major League Lacrosse Collegiate Draft. He spent three seasons in the MLL and helped guide the Cannons to the 2011 Major League Lacrosse Championship.
Gould and his wife, Taryn, have two children, Kevin III, and Lawson.
