As a four-year member and senior captain of the RWU Men's Soccer team, Cain started in 37 games and recorded 17 shutouts. Across four seasons, Cain played a total of 3,500 minutes with a 0.752 save percentage throughout his collegiate career. Cain also received two  All-Conference selections and was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.

In 2025, Cain graduated Summa Cum Laude from Roger Williams University with a degree in Architecture and is now in his first year of the Master's of Architecture program at RWU. During his undergraduate studies, Cain was awarded three Design Excellence Awards, admitted to the Tau Sigma Delta Honors Society, and was the recipient of the S/L/A/M Collaborative Scholarship. Professionally, Cain has worked for a variety of mid-sized architecture firms in New Hampshire and Rhode Island and aims to become a licensed architect in the future.
