Bio
James Greenslit enters his 11th season as Head Coach of the Roger Williams University Men's Soccer program.

The Hawks continue to make a mark within the Conference of New England (CNE), finishing in the top of the conference, reaching the conference final over the past three seasons.

In 2024, the Hawks finished the season with an overall record of 11-7-4. For the third year in a row, they made a run in the CNE Tournament and played in the Championship Game. The Hawks ultimately fell in penalty kicks for the second year in a row. The Hawks earned recognition, placing two players on the United Soccer Coaches (USC) All-Region team, seven players on the CNE All-Conference Teams, while Tyler Jastrab was named CNE Rookie of the Year and 16 student-athletes were named to the CNE Academic Team.

In 2023, the Hawks finished the regular season in second place, compiling an 8-4-9 record. They fought through the conference tournament, appearing in the finals of the CNE Tournament. The Hawks also earned accolades after the season, with Niall Shea being named a USC All-American, with two members of the squad landing on USC All-Region teams. Six student-athletes were named to the All-Conference teams, including three earning First Team honors, while seeing one named Defensive Player of the Year and another named CNE Rookie of the Year. Nine Hawks were placed on the Fall 2023 Academic All-Conference team.

During the 2022 campaign, the Hawks placed second in the regular season, making a push to take home the first tournament title under Greenslit, advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2007. After a draw against #15 St. Lawrence in the Opening round, the Hawks fell in penalty kicks. The team saw one earn USC All-American honors, with a Scholar All-American honor and two All-Region accolades.

In addition to the squad's accomplishments on the soccer field, Greenslit's squads also emphasize the importance of the student-athletes' overall roles within the Roger Williams community. Whether it is meeting the team's goal of completing 250 volunteer hours during the school year, actively contributing toward their partnership with the Team Impact non-profit organization, or encouraging players to challenge themselves in the classroom, Greenslit personally values the opportunities Division III athletics offer student-athletes, prioritizing recruiting contributors on the field who value teamwork and developing into members of the community off the field.

Greenslit graduated from Wheaton (Mass.) in 2006 with a degree in economics. He is the only three-time All-American in Wheaton College men's soccer history, being named tot he New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-Conference First Team every year during that stretch. He is a two-time NEWMAC Player of the Year, was named a part of the All-25 NEWMAC Team, and was a three-year starter on the Wheaton Men's Basketball team.

Following his Wheaton career, Greenslit played for the New England Revolution reserve squad in 2006 before suiting up for the New Hampshire Phantoms and the Western Mass. Pioneers of the United Soccer League's (USL) Second Division in 2007 and 2008, respectively. For the New Hampshire Phantoms, he was the only player on the team to be named an All-Star fo the 2007 USL season.

Greenslit joined the Roger Williams University community in 2015 after spending three seasons (and five seasons total) at Wheaton College (Mass.). He also served as an assistant at Division I College of the Holy Cross and Northeastern University for two years each. In addition to his college coaching and playing experience, Greenslit also served as a Director of Coaching for the FC Boston Bolts and holds his National Diploma from the United Soccer Coaches.
