Peter Gallo

Peter Gallo is currently serving his second stint as assistant coach for the Hawks’ Men’s Soccer program. He was previously a member of the Hawks’ coaching staff in 2004, where he acted as assistant coach and specialized in the training of the team’s goalkeepers. Before arriving at Roger Williams University, he served as the men’s assistant coach for Cranston High School East in 2003. He worked with both the varsity and junior varsity squads while coaching in Cranston.

 

After his first stint at Roger Williams, Gallo moved on to become Academy Assistant Coach for the New England Revolution Youth Soccer Academy. From 2005 to 2006 he worked for the academy, running drills and teaching assignments.

 

In 2006, Gallo moved on to the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth to work as the Men’s Goalkeeping and Assistant Coach. He assisted the head coach in all team activities and specialized in training the team’s goalkeepers.

 

From 2004 to 2009, Gallo worked as the Goalkeeper Coach and Trainer for the Rhode Island Olympic Development Program. His duties involved physically and mentally training high school goalkeepers in preparation for their college careers. Gallo developed and engaged his goalkeepers through specific exercises and drills to ensure their ability to deal with the rigors of goalkeeping at the college level. His additional coaching duties included a stop at the Xara Soccer Academy.

 

Gallo has had a very accomplished career that included being named the Connecticut College Invitational M.V.P. in 2000. He was an L.U.S.A. League and Copa champion in 2007. He has also been a semifinalist for the Rhode Island Amateur Men’s National Soccer team. 

 

Gallo graduated from Rhode Island College with a major in Sociology, starting all four years at goalkeeper. He helped the team to qualify for the Little East Conference Championships in his senior year. Gallo has played all around the world goalkeeping in Verde, Denmark at the Dana Cup and Sweden in the Forsby Cup.

 

Gallo is a Cranston, Rhode Island native, where he attended Cranston High School East.
