David Roach joins the Roger Williams Swimming & Diving program for his first season as an assistant coach.
Roach comes to RWU with a wealth of coaching and administrative experience. He served as Head Coach at the University of Tennessee from 1986-90 and Brown University from 1978-86. At Tennessee, he was a two-time SEC Coach of the Year and won three Ivy League team championships and two Eastern team titles at Brown.
In addition to his coaching accolades, Roach served Director of Athletics at three institutions, Fordham University for eight years, at Colgate for eight years, and at Brown for 14 years.
Roach is a 1971 graduate of Springfield College where was a member of the swimming team that won three consecutive New England Conference championships. He had also been inducted into the Rhode Island Aquatic Hall of Fame, the Brown University Hall of Fame, and received a Springfield College Distinguished Alumnus Award.
