    Assistant Coach - Softball
Erica Castro returns for her fifth season as the assistant coach for the Softball team.  Castro works with the offense and oversees the outfielder defense, in addition to scouting and other administrative duties with the Hawks. 

As a former infielder and two-time co-captain for the Hawks, Castro started in all 170 games in her career.  She finished with a .302 batting average over her four years and totaled 74 runs batted in. Castro was also a defensive force tallying a program-high 22 turned double plays and finishing her career with 343 assists.  She also earned All-Commonwealth Coast Conference honors in all four years with the Hawks. 

Castro graduated from RWU with a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing, with a concentration in design.  Along with her time with the softball team, she also was a representative for the Student Athlete Advisory Committee as well as a program Coordinator for the Big Sisters of Rhode Island foundation.  Castro completed her Master’s Degree in Sport Administration in 2017 from Northeastern University.
