Julie Edson joined the Roger Williams University Athletic Training Staff in August 2025.
Edson comes to RWU from Bryant University, where she served as an assistant athletic trainer for club sports. At Bryant, she was responsible for the care of over 400 student-athletes, providing home game coverage, daily treatments, concussion management, and designing rehabilitation programs. She also assisted with the evaluation and treatment of varsity sports, including football, softball, men's lacrosse, swimming and diving, and cross country.
Her previous clinical experiences include working with winter and spring sports at Lawrence Academy in Groton, Mass., football at Brown University, women's soccer and field hockey at the University of New Hampshire, and multiple sports at Haverhill High School, gaining experience in emergency management, injury prevention, rehabilitation, and holistic athlete care.
A Massachusetts native, Edson earned her Master of Science in Athletic Training from Merrimack College in May 2024, following her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science, cum laude, from Merrimack in 2022. She is a licensed athletic trainer in Rhode Island, a certified member of the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer, and a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association.
