Roger Williams University Athletics

Mike Gallagher enters his 24^th year at Roger Williams University, and his 16^th as Assistant Director of Athletics for Recreational Services and Facilities. He was promoted to Associate Director of Athletics in September 2018.
 
Gallagher came to Roger Williams University in June 1998 as the Intramural/Recreation Activity Coordinator. Initially, he served as the assistant to the Director of Intramurals.
 
In June 2003, Gallagher was promoted to oversee the entire Intramural department as the Intramural/Recreation Coordinator, followed by a promotion to his current position as an Assistant Athletic Director in June 2005. Gallagher is involved in several other areas within the athletic department.
 
Gallagher is originally from St. Johnsbury, Vt., where he attended St. Johnsbury Academy, graduating in 1988. After high school, he went to Springfield College, graduating in 1992 after majoring in Sports Management.
 
While at Springfield, he played one year of football before converting over to rugby for the remainder of his college career. In May 2006, Gallagher received his master’s degree in Sports Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University’s distance learning program.
 
Straight out of college, he moved to Rhode Island in 1992 to take a position with the Boys & Girls Club of Cumberland/Lincoln as their Physical Director. He worked there for six years, organizing various youth leagues for club members.
 
Gallagher remains active and enjoys working out, outdoor activities, and spending time with his children. In his spare time, he serves as a basketball official for high school, men’s recreational, and college games. He currently resides in Exeter, R.I. with his wife, Susan.
